Our Story

Ajlan Atasoy, MD

Author, Founder

Ajlan lives amongst lovely trees in central New Jersey, USA with her brilliant daughter, whose joyful, open-hearted love of languages inspired Bigger World Books.

Ajlan and her daughter’s love for animals, adventures, and each other inspires Bigger World Books to create bilingual children’s stories with culturally relevant, native-speaker-approved translations.

Whether it’s sharing a bedtime story with grandma (“anneanne”), gardening with grandpa (“dede”), or singing in each other’s language with Auntie Ceren, these books celebrate the gift of having more than one mother tongue.
